COURSE OVERVIEW

The Endoscopic Ear Surgery course is back this year with a blast! Be amazed by fresh insights, tips and tricks from our course faculty. This is the perfect course for those looking to get started on endoscopic ear surgery, as well as those looking to pursue advanced techniques amidst state of the art endoscopes and drills. Get a chance to try out underwater drilling, the piezoelectric drill, whilst perfoming the entire breadth of ear surgery procedures that can be performed with the endoscope.

OBJECTIVES

Succinct lectures broadly covering basic anatomy, surgical set up, paediatric considerations, tympanoplasty, tympanomastoidectomy, cholesteatoma surgery, advanced EES. 

Cadaveric dissection performing key surgical procedures: Tympanomeatal flap, tympanoplasty, atticotomy, middle ear dissection, stapes surgery, ossiculoplasty, eustachian tuboplasty, infracochlear approaches.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

By the end of the course, participants will be able to: 

  • understand the principles and setup of endoscopic ear surgery

  • identify important middle ear and temporal bone anatomical landmarks

  • perform key procedures including tympanomeatal flap elevation, tympanoplasty, and atticotomy

  • demonstrate techniques in ossiculoplasty, stapes surgery, and middle ear dissection

  • understand surgical approaches for cholesteatoma and advanced endoscopic ear procedures

  • gain exposure to emerging technologies including underwater drilling and piezoelectric drilling
