COURSE OVERVIEW

Since 2001, The Centre for Hearing & Ear Implants has been dedicated to providing transdisciplinary care to patients with hearing loss and their families. Our team of Otologists, Audiologists, and Auditory-Verbal Therapists collaborate closely to support each cochlear implant (CI) patient’s journey, ensuring optimal progress and the best possible hearing outcomes.  This year’s workshop focuses on a critical step that follows cochlear implantation: CI Programming.

Join us as we explore how understanding key concepts in CI programming can facilitate better communication amongst Otologists, Audiologists and Therapists, where each can contribute their unique expertise, in working together to achieve the best results for every patient.

OBJECTIVES

This course seeks to foster an interdisciplinary understanding of the critical role that key concepts in Cochlear Implant Programming play in the recipient's journey - from device selection to listening and spoken language success.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

  • ENT Specialists: equip with essential knowledge to understand MAPs, identify issues, and collaborate more effectively with the aural rehab team.

  • Audiologists: build confidence in optimising initial activations and follow-up MAPs, using best practices in strategies and outcome measures.
