Dr Barrie Tan is a Senior Consultant ENT surgeon who has more than 20 years of clinical experience. He is well versed in managing all Paediatric and Adult ENT, Head and Neck Conditions.

Cochlear Implants: Trained at the prestigious Ear Science Institute Australia, he was the Director of the Centre for Hearing and Ear Implants, Singapore General Hospital from 2012-2019. Highly regarded for his work in cochlear implantation, Dr Barrie Tan has performed numerous paediatric and adult cochlear implant surgeries locally as well as in Vietnam, Bangladesh and Indonesia, on the invitation of hospitals there. He organised the first SGH Cochlear Implant Masterclass Course in 2017 and is an often invited speaker on this topic.

Endoscopic Ear Surgeries (EES): Dr Barrie Tan is also widely known for his experience with Endoscopic Ear Surgeries, a new technique of minimally invasive ear surgeries. He was the first to perform EES in Singapore General Hospital in 2014 and since then has performed numerous different types of Endoscopic Ear Surgeries, ranging from Endoscopic Tympanoplasty, Myringoplasty, Tympanomastoidectomy, Ossiculoplasty and Stapedotomy. He has been organising the annual SGH Endoscopic Ear Surgery Course since 2016.
